She has been teaching yoga, dance and wellness classes for 15 years in corporate settings, yoga studios and with clients in private sessions. She uses a creative and engaging teaching style to meet the needs of any student and makes yoga accessible, enriching and fun.

In working with clients in a therapeutic yoga capacity, Wendy develops effective solutions for a variety of physical, physiological, and emotional imbalances. Wendy believes that everyone can benefit from a proper yoga practice and she takes great joy in designing yoga programs to meet an individual’s needs. Her passion is helping and educating people to live joyful, long and healthier lives.

Wendy has had the pleasure of working with clients in private session to alleviate the physical and emotional symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease. She has led group sessions for Parkinson’s Support groups including at UMass Memorial and Eldercare Solutions of Boston. Wendy also has a great passion for line dance and led Line Dance for PD at Moving Day Atlanta 2015.

I could not be more pleased with the care and teaching Wendy Haggerty has provided in helping me to regain my health. I was referred to her by a trusted medical professional as a result of doctor’s orders following four back surgeries in less than one year. The Surgeon specifically ordered Yoga in addition to conventional physical therapy in my rehabilitation. He specified limitations to both to accommodate three vertebrae that were fused in the surgery.

During the ensuing three months Wendy developed a continually evolving practice that restored my core strength as well as correcting my posture, improving balance and using gait to keep from over-tiring my back muscles. I am 68 years old and have Parkinson’s disease; both of which add unique complications to physical rehabilitation. Wendy has extensive training in dealing with both and was able to incorporate reducing age and Parkinson’s related symptoms in my daily life.

The physiological improvements exceeded expectations, but the emotional recovery has been phenomenal. I feel so much better and know that I will ultimately be well. I sleep better than I have in years and have dreams, which have been missing for as long a time.

Wendy presented to my Parkinson’s Disease Support Group. She had the whole group participate in the different exercises regardless of their ability. The group enjoyed her presentation and her ability to make everyone feel comfortable.

I would recommend Wendy as a Teacher and Wellness Specialist to clients struggling with Parkinson’s Disease. She builds on the strengths of each client, so they feel successful in their personalized exercise program.
